Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long do I need to sign-up for?
You can work at your own pace and the course will normally take you around 20 months to complete – that means if you start in September/October 2024, you’ll be ready to take exams in May/June 2026. It is, however, possible to complete the course in just 7-8 months and take your exams the following year if you are motivated enough.
Q: How much does it cost?
Please refer to individual course pages for pricing as different packages are available.
Q: Are Exam fees included?
No. Exams are taken in 3rd party exam centres you pay directly. We will assist you in selecting a suitable location and enrolling for the right exams. See our Exam Information Page for more details.
Q: I have a Voucher Code. How do I use it?
A: Click on the “Add Promotion Code” link on the checkout page. Enter your code and the discount will automatically be applied.
Q: If I sign-up and change my mind, can i get a refund?
A: Refunds are offered in the first 14 days after a course has been purchased. Refunds are not available after this time and no credit will be given for STEM Kits not sent out because you have not reached the appropriate section of the course.
Q: I’ve seen cheaper courses online. Why are yours more expensive?
A: As well as providing easily-accessible named individual tutors, our prices also include the provision of STEM Kits sent to your home to help you with practical work. These are sent out when you reach certain points in your course and integrate into your learning path.
Q: How much support will I get from my tutor?
A: Each student is allocated a named tutor who will help to guide you through the course. Submitted work is marked and feedback given. You will be able to ask questions online and will receive an answer, typically within 1 working day. You may be prevented from moving onto the next section of a course until your tutor is confident you have fully understood critical points in the previous section.
Tutors hold fortnighly drop-in online LIVE sessions where you can ask for additional help if you need to.
You will also be guided through exam practice, past papers, and so on when the time comes.
Q: Are all tutors DBS checked?
A: Yes.
Q: Are parents kept informed of progress?
A: Your tutor will hold an initial, and then termly, consultation with your parents to keep them up-to-date with your progress.
Any concerns will also be raised as the course progresses.
Q: What age group are the courses suitable for?
A: We mainly target the courses at those intending to take GCSE exams within a year or two of starting a course, so the courses are suitable for anyone aged around 14 or over.
Q: Do you deliver STEM Kits outside the UK?
No, we only deliver to the UK mainland currently.
Q: When will I be charged?
You will be charged on sign-up. You will be taken to our Stripe online payment centre and asked to enter card details.
Within 48 hours, you will have your account set-up, your tutor allocated, and you will be sent joining/course enrolment details.
Q: Which credit cards are accepted?
We currently accept Visa and Mastercard Credit and Debit cards.
Q: Do you have Terms?
A: Yes, our term times can be found in the “About” section of our website. LIVE drop-ins with tutors, parent sessions, and 1 day marking/feedback only occur in term times.
Outside of standard term times, you will still have acess to all course materials and submitted work will still be marked, although it may take longer than in term time. This means that you should not be prevented from moving on from a “must be marked first before progressing” point in your course for too long.
